Qualify for Canadian Skilled Worker Immigration

The Government of Canada, on January 1st 2015, implemented the Express Entry system of immigration under the Economic Class including the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

Under this new system, Federal Skilled Workers across all 347 eligible occupations who satisfy the minimum entry criteria, were welcomed to submit their Expression of Interest profile into the Express Entry Pool. All profiles placed in the Express Entry Pool are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System which ranks candidates based on a set of standard factors. Those with the highest ranks will be considered for an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence Permits in Canada. All candidates who receive an Invitation to Apply have 60 days to submit their completed application. A Federal Skilled Worker is one with suitable education, age, work experience and language proficiency in English and/or French Language. In order to qualify to be admitted into the Express Entry Pool as a Federal Skilled Worker, the candidate must meet the following conditions:

Essential Conditions:

1.       Candidate must have one year continuous fulltime paid job experience or something equivalent in part-time continuous employment within the space of last 10 years in any of the 347 eligible occupations as listed under the applicable National Occupational Classification System; AND

2.       Such work experience must be classified under Skill Type 0 (Managerial Occupations), or Skill Level A (Professional Occupations), or Skill Level B (Technical Occupations and Skilled Trades) under the National Occupational Classification System; AND

3.       Such candidate must have at least 67 points from the 6 selection factors under the Skilled Worker Point Grid;

4.       Candidate must have undergone testing from a recognized testing agency for English or French Language Proficiency which corresponds with the Canadian Language Benchmark of 7

5.       Candidate must have enough funds to settle down in Canada

6.       Candidate must have undergone a successful security background and health check.
