Invitations to Apply for Canada Express Entry Increased Again

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of ITAs issued from the Express Entry Pool and the number of Comprehensive Ranking System points needed to obtain the ITAs for the second time in a row. The last draw which took place on the 21st of September witnessed a total of 1288 ITAs issued to candidates with only 483 or more CRS points to qualify for that.

Those who get their ITA are in a position to submit their application for permanent residence and they are free to bring in family members, spouses, common law partners and dependent children.

The previous draw that was conducted, which took place on the 7th of September only witnessed a total of 1000 ITAs for those who have 491 points or more in CRS points. Before this draw, about 9 draws have been conducted and fewer ITAs were issued per draw; much less than 800. The recent increase in the number of ITAs and the reduction in the qualifying CRS points is an indication that the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has plans to give out more invitations in order to reach the annual targets set by the Federal Economic Canadian Immigration programs through the Express Entry platform.

The Express Entry program is Canada’s immigration management system for applications submitted under the Federal Economic migration programs which includes the Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades and the Canadian Experience Class Programs.

All who are eligible for this will be required to submit profile information into the pool where they are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The top candidates in the pool are given priority by the government of Canada whenever they conduct draws from the pool. Those who are fortunate to obtain ITAs for permanent residence will have 60 days to submit their e-application after which the application will be processed for another 6 months.
