Immigration to New Zealand from Dubai

If you don’t already know, migration is far more than just filling forms and submitting some paperwork; it’s a far more complex process that tends to test even the most persistent of people. This is why it is advised that migrants use the services of New Zealand immigration consultant in Dubai or other visa agents in Dubai to their advantage since these are already vast in the business.

A thorough understanding of New Zealand is mandatory to your survival of the immigration process and it also gives you a view of the country you intend migrating to.

Labour Market and Economy Strong

I am not a fan of writing dry stuff on the current status of the NZ labour market but since many of you are looking for jobs to be able to secure your resident visas, you are not all that familiar with the skill demand level in the New Zealand labour market, and your own view of NZ is shaped by what you see in your own country (affirmative action policies as is seen in Malaysia and South Africa for example), it is therefore worth the effort to attempt to ‘paint a picture’ of the state of affairs in the New Zealand labour market through to June this year.

It is pretty much encouraging!

Taking a look at the report recently issues by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) which is saddled with the responsibility of tracking these things, I seriously have not seen so many ‘hockey sticks’ in their graphs about everything from net migration to labour market participation rates; to the new fulltime jobs that have been created in recent times.

Truth be told, there is no better time to be an English speak migrant that is looking for a job in New Zealand! Below are the key highlights:

·         The economic growth of the year that ended Sept 2016 was 3.696 – which is the highest in the developed world

·         In this same period, about 78,000 new fulltime jobs were created. As a matter of fact, the rate of growth of new jobs is outstripping population growth.

·         Average manpower hours stepped up by 5.76% which is an indicator of labour and skill shortages in the June quarter

·         Highest levels of net new migration has helped to increase labour market participation rates i.e. there are many more people working than at any point in the past. This number has increased by over 105,000 people in the year that ended June to about 2.4 million

·         Canterbury and Auckland remains the biggest centers of job creation

·         Salaries are growing faster than inflation (0.49%) at about 2% net salary growth

·         Health and social security assistance went up by 27 percent from both public and private sectors

·         Food services and accommodation got 14,000 new jobs and construction got 12,000 new jobs and contributed the highest number of newly created fulltime jobs to the job market in the year ended June 2016.

·         Business confidence remains high across all sectors from services to the manufacturing even to horticulture.

More and more tourists are flooding NZ with most from China. Auckland is complaining of shortage of hotels to serve these tourists. This is a good problem to have!
